I knew this day would come! I have been friends with Saniqua and Eric for well over 14 years now. When Eric saw Saniqua he was instantly in love. They have been married for 8 years now and have been told pregnancy would be hard with out help. Knowing I have been through this as well Saniqua and I talked one day about my struggle to get pregnant . I told her it would happen. I know the waiting is very hard. I felt God telling me I needed to buy her a baby gift as a promise that it would happen for them. I started to second guess myself thinking it was me not God saying that. I never did buy that gift. I wish I would have listened then. I am growing in that area of doing what God says when I feel him telling me to do something.
So when Saniqua wanted to get pictures taken, I had a feeling it was a baby announcement. I didn’t ask her but she did tell me later so I wasn’t too shocked. I told her I had a feeling but didn’t want to ruin it for her. Plus I was at work when she asked and didn’t want anyone to over hear me asking. On Mothers day I listened to a message from Risen Nation. The praise and worship leader was talking about a baby book her mom read to her when she was young. I knew I had to buy this for Saniqua! It is called Runaway Bunny. The story told of how the Baby Bunny wanted to runaway and the Mommy Bunny said she would always follow and be there. Just like Gods love! No matter how far we try to run away he will always be there beckoning us home to him. He knew their hearts desire was to have a baby and he has blessed them with one! I know they will make great parents and they will have a great support from family and friends.
We ended up going to North Charleston River Front park for their photos. The evening turned out beautiful! They are just the picture perfect couple! I am honored to have captured these images for them. Can’t wait to see her baby bump grow!
